Business has a voice. It's time to use it.

We seek to help companies, and the people inside them, speak up, act, and contribute to a more peaceful, equitable and just world.

Why Business Leaders for Peace?

Businesses often, too often, choose to remain silent in the face of conflict and the other interdependent components of the polycrisis.

We think that silence is a choice, a costly one. Business has influence, reach, and a voice that governments respond to. Using that voice well, at the right moments, can change outcomes.

And the cost is not just to broader society, but to business itself, which depends on the stable functioning of society to prosper.

Our purpose is to help businesses and business people to speak up to promote peace, and to address the other interdependent aspects of the polycrisis, such as the environment and social inequality, and to mobilise against the immediate, greatest iniquities, such as hunger, war crimes and genocide.

What We Do

Business Leaders for Peace was launched in May 2025. Following unprecedented support from over 1,400 business leaders, we delivered a powerful letter to the UK government. Our network of business leaders then commissioned us to take forward two projects, both built to turn good intent into meaningful action.

Creating a Business Playbook

We have mobilised a team of like minded individuals to take forward an extensive research programme. This explores why businesses stay silent on issues which destabilise global peace, and how to end that silence. The end point is a practical guide: a method for how businesses can navigate what to speak out on, how to speak out, and what to do in order to authentically take meaningful action in the face of global conflicts and other collective issues.

Our starting point: An open letter

In the summer of 2025, we wrote an open letter from business to the UK Government. Almost 1,400 business leaders signed it. See their names here and the response from Hamish Falconer MP, the Minister for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan here.
